You guys know I am not much of a DIYer if you were around for last year’s DIY project attempt. But there is one DIY project I was able to successfully complete a few years back and that is our pumpkin arch! I saw somebody share it on Instagram, and I just had to do it!! I had some help, but we got it done and I loved how it turned out so much we’ve reused it every year since! We just got it up for the season last weekend, so I thought I would share a step-by-step of how we did it in case you want to make your own this year!

Step 1: Purchase 20-30 (fake) pumpkins. I got mine from Walmart, but you can get them at Amazon, Target, etc.

Step 2: Grab some spray paint! You can paint your pumpkins whatever color. You could leave them as is too if you don’t want to paint!

Step 3: Paint your pumpkins! I just grabbed some plastic tablecloths like this from Dollar Tree to cover the driveway and just set them all out to spray paint. I laid out the pumpkins in the order I wanted them in the arch so I knew which pumpkins I wanted to paint which color!

Step 4: Make an arch out of PVC pipe. We ziptied the PVC arch to the columns on either side of our front door.

Step 5: Drill two holes in the back of the pumpkin.

Step 6: Thread a zip tie through the drilled holes.

Step 7: Use the zip tie to connect each pumpkin to the PVC arch. 

And that’s it!! It really was not a super hard project, and we’ve gotten to reuse it year after year! I love how much character it adds to the front of our house without looking too cluttered!
